How To Use

Search

With FireTube, you can listen to any song, any time, any where. To accomplish this, click the search button in the action bar and type in any song or artist.

-Select one song: This will play your desired song as well as creating a playlist for continuous music goodness.
-Select multiple songs: By long clicking on a song, you can select mutliple songs. You then have two options to choose from:
- Plays a new queue with only the selected songs.
- Adds the songs to your current queue.

Your search results are stored and displayed for further suggestions. These results can be cleared in the settings.

Player

The player is embedded at the bottom of the app and will display when you select a song.

Video Mode - Allows you to alternate between music only mode and video mode.

Quality/Cache - Changes quality that is automaitcally set by your connection (Red - high quality, Gray - low quality, Black - playing from cache).

Queue - To delete a song from the queue, swipe from either left or right. You can move songs in the queue by dragging the left side of the song.

Menu - The menu button contains extra functionality to the player and queue. Here you can create a playlist or a song to either a new playlist or an existing playlist.


Playlists

  • To save playlists, you must be logged into a Google account. Your playlists will be accessible on any Android device or any Firefox browser with the FireTube addon.
  • You can access your playlists from the navigation drawer. (Play, Rename, Delete) a playlist by long clicking on a playlist.

Edit Playlist

  • Delete song - Simply swipe from either the left or right.
  • Change order - You can move songs in the queue by dragging the left side of the song.
  • Save changes - After you make a change, a message will prompt you to save the playlist.

FAQ

The player is stuck loading.
- First check that you have a good internet connection.
- Check to make sure songs are playing in the official YouTube app. Sometimes there is a problem connecting to YouTube's servers.
- A solution may be to try connecting to a different network.

Songs won't play. Receiving message: "This song is currently unavailable."
- It is possible the song has been deleted but the link is still available.
- If all songs aren't playing, it is possible YouTube has changed their API. Please report this so a solution can be found ASAP.

Failed to login with YouTube account ("Internal Error Occurred").
- The first thing to do is clear the app data and try again.
- Try clearing the Google 2-step verification.
- Send a message below explaining the situation to further investigate the problem.

How do I delete a song from my playlist?
- You can delete a song from your playlist or queue by swiping left or right.

Some songs don't cache?
- Some wifi networks have to disable the tcp_timestamp on the server side.
- When a song fails to load, another method is used to stream the song and it is not cachable.
